You may have already heard, but if not, Coventry has made the shortlist to be UK City of Culture in 2021!

The 11 bidding cities have been whittled down to just 5 by the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, and Coventry is joined by Paisley, Sunderland, Stoke and Swansea on the candidate city shortlist.

The bid team now have to work on the final bid document, which has to be submitted by the end of September, and will then have to present to a panel of judges later this year, before finding out if we’ve won in December.

They would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you’ve shown to Coventry’s bid so far, but also to say that it’s now more important than ever to make sure you’re showing your support for Coventry.

Keep tweeting, liking and following them on Facebook, and liking their pictures on Instagram, and let’s show the UK and beyond just much Coventry wants and needs this title.
